The Mecca of gambling
There’s a chance you’ve been to a real casino too. In that case you’ll know what I was talking about. There’s a buzz you get from playing in a real casino that is impossible to recreate via the internet. But better than your local casino, you need to go to the place where all the gamblers go – Las Vegas.
Las Vegas is synonymous with gambling and everyone who’s serious about casino games needs to take a trip there at least once in their lifetime.
The name Las Vegas was given to the area in which the city now exists in the 1820s by an Australian scout. The city proper didn’t begin to exist until 1905 – it is in the middle of a desert after all and isn’t the typical location for a city. The first gambling licence was granted for a casino in Las Vegas in 1931 and the rest, as they say, is history.
There are now 40 casinos on Las Vegas’ strip which is more than you’ll find in any other city in the world. They are all huge places with an array of games on offer. Whether you like slot machines, Blackjack, Roulette, Craps or any of a whole host of other card and table games, you’ll find what you’re looking for in any one of the casinos of Las Vegas. You’ll experience the real thrills of casino play and interact with live dealers as you play. There are even poker tournaments you can enter, some with relatively low buy in amounts. The casinos never close so you can play any time of the day or night, whatever suits you best.
You might have played casino games online, but there’s no substitute for a live casino. Sure, you can play online games with live dealers who you can interact wit, but it’s not the same as live casino. You miss out on the smells and sounds of a real casino, the feel of a pile of chips in your hand and the adrenaline rush of experiencing a big win at a table.
More than just gambling
Of course you go to Vegas to gamble, but you can’t do that 24/7. There are hotels attached to all of the casinos for you to stay in, often in quite luxurious settings. There is plenty of free food and drink to take advantage of in the hotels and casinos too and then of course there is entertainment. You can’t go all the way to Las Vegas and not see a show. It doesn’t have to be an expensive performer either. There are loads of shows to choose from. From singers and dancers to circus performers and magicians. There’s some kind of entertainment for everyone. And don’t forget Elvis! You’ll see him everywhere. Maybe the real Elvis is among the hordes of lookalikes? Who knows? And if you feel like getting married while you’re in Las Vegas, Elvis could even be the minister who presides over the ceremony!
